UFO week

Hello!

The past two weeks I've been working on some of my UFO projects and I'm proud to say that I've come a long way. They're not all finished but I'm getting there. :-) So within a week, hopefully, I'll start posting pictures of a tote bag, a Round Robin quilt and a lap quilt from a pattern I bougt in Holland last year. When they're all finished I have a few more UFO's to deal with...

I'm between jobs at the moment so when I don't sew I apply for jobs. The most recent job I've applied for is in Switzerland! I'm not sure what I'm getting myself into but I'm very excited of course! :-)

Later,
Jessica

Charm Packs

Hello,
The weather is beautiful and the days are much longer and brighter here now. It's so enjoyable!

I have found a perfect way of using those cute little Charm Packs that's sitting around. My Mom came up with the idea of making a bag and she designed a perfect sized and easy-to-make bag using a Charm Pack. Colors and print are already in a perfect match so there's really not much preparation that needs to be done.

I got a Charm Pack in my Easter Egg and I made this bag.

Since I liked the result so much I decided to use the idea in the Bag Swap I participated in, only I picked different fabrics. Now I can show the whole bag since the receiver has already gotten it.

See You soon!

Bag Swap 2008

Hello!
It's a sunny day here in Västerås today and I just realized that it's been a long time since last time... I've been busy at work and the commute takes a little time to get used to. Long hours which means I'm dead tired at night! However, it's been a lot of fun working again and those two months they offered me from the beginning has now turned into three months. :-)

I'm participating in a Bag Swap along with 14 other women from 5 different countries. Friday I received a beautiful bag from Holland along with some gifts in it! Isn't lovely? Look at the adorable fabrics! I love it and I've used it all weekend. Thank You Gerda! :-)

This lovely bag inspired me even more to finish the one I'm sending out - so I did! The picture only shows a small detail of it since I don't wanna give away the surprise before hand. All I have to do now is fill it up with some treats! ;-)

I'm gonna enjoy the rest of this sunny day now! Until next time, Take Care!

This is good news!

Today I got the good news that I got a job at a bank in Stockholm! :-) Wow, this is a huge step forward for me! I'm as happy as can be. This means I'll be commuting every day. Rise and shine early every morning - train leaves at 6,23 a.m. and I'll return home at about 6 p.m. Long days but it's totally worth it! It's only for two months but hopefully it'll lead to something more permanent later on.

Last weekend I got in the mood for sewing again. I managed to make the little things on the pictures below; a cute little flower that holds a measuring-tape and a holder for my sharp scissors.

I start my new job in two weeks which means I can really take some time off and do whatever I feel like, almost... So, I think I'll try to sew as much as possible whenever I get the chance! :-)

Another Job Interview

Right now my goal is a job, any job, maybe not any job but at least something that'll keep me on my toes and pay my bills. Today I was at another job interview. Now comes the time of waiting and wondering... I guess you've already figured out that I didn't get the job I was interviewed for a couple of months ago. I was kind of "under-qualified" at that time, or maybe I should say that some else was better qualified than me. Today I was "over-qualified" and I cannot understand why that should even be an issue? Isn't up to the applicant when she applies for the job to consider if it something that she wants to do? If you think you're "over-qualified" then you don't apply for the job, am I right?? It just doesn't make sense to me! Well, we'll see in a few days what will happen.
Anyways, I am very pleased (and proud!) to say that I did pass the exam in Macroeconomics a few weeks ago. I'm as happy as can be! :-D

Makroekonomi

Happy New Year!

Another year has gone by - time really flies!
For me 2008 will be very different from 2007. In a short period of time I'll finally get a Bachelor's Degree in Business Economics and Management, and a Bachelor's Degree in English. I cannot wait! I have worked over 5 years to get where I am today. It is so exciting!!! The next step is to find a job and I hope it'll be soon.

Do I have any New Year's resolutions? Sure I do but they'll remain a secret for now... ;-)

Quilting projects for next year? I am gonna finnish all those UFO's and take on some new projects!

Happy New Year!
