Was I even there?

I was at a job interview today. I guess it did go pretty well, but there's always a thing or two you forget to say or wish you didn't say at all. Why is it so hard to emphasize on the things that matter, strenghts that are important to the position you're applying for? Somehow it's easy to be side-tracked as the interview goes by and you find yourself talking away not having a clue what the question even was to begin with! Is it the nervousness that shortcuts the brain? Or is even you that is being interviewed?? I really don't know what happens. All I know is, that after an hour or two after an interview, I'm wondering if I was even there, or if it was my evil twin not wanting me to get the job and luring me into answering the questions the weirdest way possible?!
The worst is that I'm not sure how many interviews you have to go through before you know exactly what to answer to all these questions. I'm afraid it'll be too many before you can get it perfect and by then you've given up hope of even getting a job at all!

Well, all I can do now is wait in agony for about a week, hoping that I will get a second chance and the next time around emphasize on the things that really matter! ;-)

X-mas is near...

I cannot believe that it's already December - only 3 weeks until X-mas!! Well, I feel pretty good about myself 'cuz I have already bought some Christmas presents, but as usual it's only the easy ones so far... Even though it's December the weather is still more like fall. With the grey weather the days are so dark. It's actually only daylight between 8.30 a.m - 3 p.m. so some snow would make all the difference!
I'm trying to make time for everything - studying, sewing, making X-mas cards, applying for jobs (oh, next week I have a job interview and I'm so excited!) and all the other daily things. Although I have a pretty tight schedule at the moment I think I have everything under control. I even find time to sew! ;-)
My sewing project right now is a Christmas quilt. The posted photos are the three different blocks. I'll post the whole quilt when it's all done! :-)

Winding down

I've been crazy busy the last few weeks. School has taken most of my time, but it has been educative, tough and fun. Had a couple of exams wich totally drained me of my energy. I know I past one of them, the other one I'm still waiting for the result.

Most importantly - today I'm going to see I friend of mine, Weronica, and we're going to have an afternoon filled with quilting and stuff! :-) So today will be a day of winding down and catching up on some of my sewing projects! :-)

Sampler Quilt

Next weekend me and my Mom are teaching a beginners course in quilting. To freshen up my memory I started sewing a Sampler Quilt today. Here's one out of six blocks. I'll put the rest up when it is all done!
Since today was all about sewing, tomorrow is going to be all about studying... at least before 6 p.m. 'cuz that's when my local quilt group will meet and share ideas! :-)

The time of colorful nature!

Autumn is finally here and I just love it! All the leaves that changes color och the crisp air. Mmm...
I wish I could say that I do a lot of quilting but unfortunately I don't. :-( I have to study most of my time cause it is my last semester before I can say that I have a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Business - I can't wait! On top of school I seriously have to start looking for a job now. It would be wonderful to start working in January. I'm very excited about the future but at the same time it's a little bit scary... I'm definitely applying for a traineeprogram. I think that would fit me and it would give me the oppurtunity to apply my theoretical knowledge to practical situations.
Back to quilting, I guess that is why you're here! I have many new projects that's just waiting on the shelf and I wish I had the time to do it. My Mom went to the Quilt Show in Birmingham in August and she bought me some really nice things, among them a beautiful kit from Petra Prins. I think I might save that one until after Christmas though, when I have more time.
Our local quilt group are working on a project that we're gonna give to a part of the hospital where handicapped children live. We all make 12" blocks and my block has an elephant with floppy ears on it. :-) We also have a Round Robin project with a theme of our own. I chose Crazy Quilt for my block and it'll be exciting too see the final result in March. :-)

I guess that's it for today. Have a lovely autumn!

This is me.

Thanks for stopping by!
My name is Jessica and I'm from Sweden - a lovely country in northern Europe. I have fairly recently started to quilt and I love it! So this blogg will mostly be about my quilting projects but once in a while I'll write about something else that is on my mind.Right now, besides quilting, I'm studying for my Bachelors degree in English and Business/Economics.
Other than quilting I like arts and crafts, traveling, interior decorating, music, books and spending time with friends and family.
I've lived in the United States for a few years and I had a wonderful time. I try to visit friends and family over there as often as I can - which is not often enough!
I will mostly write in English - but once in a while I'll write in Swedish which is my native language.
Now you know a little bit about me - next time I'll post some of my quilting projects!
